Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 250g digestive biscuits, crushed
- 395g sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
Topping
- 200g dark chocolate, melted
- 100g toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the tin: Line an 8×8 inch baking tin with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
- Mix base ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed digestive biscuits and the sweetened condensed milk, stirring well until the biscuits are evenly coated.
- Add hazelnuts to base: Stir half of the chopped toasted hazelnuts into the biscuit mixture to incorporate texture and flavor.
- Press mixture into tin: Transfer the biscuit mixture into the lined tin and press it firmly and evenly using a spatula or the back of a spoon to form a compact base layer.
- Pour melted chocolate: Pour the melted dark chocolate evenly over the biscuit base and spread it smoothly to cover the entire surface.
- Top with remaining hazelnuts: Sprinkle the rest of the toasted hazelnuts evenly on top of the chocolate layer for added crunch and garnish.
- Chill to set: Place the tin in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until the slice is fully set and firm.
- Slice and serve: Once set, lift the slice out of the tin using the parchment paper, slice into 16 squares with a hot knife for clean cuts, and serve.
Notes
- Ensure the hazelnuts are toasted to enhance their flavor and crunch.
- Press the biscuit mixture firmly to help the slice hold together when cut.
- Use a hot knife (dip in hot water and wipe dry) for smooth slicing without cracking the chocolate.
- This slice should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 5 days for best freshness.
- The sweetness and richness can be adjusted by choosing milk or darker chocolate as preferred.
