Description

This Amish Peanut Butter Cream Pie is a luscious and creamy dessert featuring a smooth peanut butter pudding filling layered with crunchy peanut butter crumbles. It’s set in a flaky pre-baked pie crust and topped with fluffy whipped cream, making it a perfect no-bake treat for peanut butter lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust and Crumbles

  • 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter

Filling

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup whipped cream or Cool Whip

Topping

  • 2 cups sweetened whipped cream or 8 oz Cool Whip (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Make Crumbles: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and ¼ cup creamy peanut butter using a fork until the mixture becomes crumbly. Set this mixture aside for layering later.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 1½ cups of milk until the pudding thickens. Stir in ½ cup creamy peanut butter until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Finally, gently fold in 1 cup of whipped cream or Cool Whip to create a light and creamy filling.
  3. Assemble Pie: Sprinkle half of the peanut butter crumbles evenly on the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust. Carefully spread the peanut butter pudding filling over the crumbles, smoothing it out evenly across the crust.
  4. Top & Chill: Spread the remaining 2 cups of sweetened whipped cream or Cool Whip over the peanut butter filling to cover it completely. Then, sprinkle the remaining peanut butter crumbles on top as a decorative and flavorful finishing touch. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow it to set and chill properly before serving.

Notes

  • Use a pre-baked 9-inch pie crust for convenience; homemade crust can enhance the flavor.
  • Substitute Cool Whip with fresh whipped cream for a lighter texture.
  • For an extra crunch, consider adding chopped peanuts to the crumbles.
  • Chill the pie thoroughly to ensure it holds its shape when sliced.
  • Serve chilled for the best creamy texture and flavor experience.
