Description

These Beef and Cheese Pizza Crust Taco Rolls are a delicious fusion of taco flavors and pizza comfort. Ground beef seasoned with taco spices is combined with cheddar cheese and bell peppers, all rolled inside a soft pizza dough, baked until golden and bubbly. Perfect as a party appetizer, snack, or a fun dinner, these bite-sized spirals are bursting with rich, cheesy taco goodness.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Taco Beef Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced red and yellow bell peppers

For the Dough and Assembly

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  2. Cook the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned with no pink remaining. Drain excess fat to avoid greasy filling.
  3. Season and mix filling: Allow the beef to cool slightly, then sprinkle in the taco seasoning. Mix well, then fold in diced bell peppers and shredded cheddar cheese for vibrant color and flavor.
  4. Roll out the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a ¼-inch thick rectangle to ensure even distribution of filling.
  5. Assemble the rolls: Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough leaving a small border around the edges. Roll dough tightly from the longer side into a log shape, ensuring it’s snug but with enough room for expansion.
  6. Slice and arrange: Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 1-inch spiral slices. Place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet spaced apart. Brush tops with olive oil to promote browning.
  7. Bake and garnish: Bake in the preheated oven for 18–22 minutes until the rolls are golden and bubbly. Remove and let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute the bell peppers with other veggies like jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • To elevate flavor, add some diced onions or a dash of cumin to the taco beef mixture.
  • Use pre-made pizza dough to save time or make your own from scratch.
  • These rolls freeze well before baking – freeze sliced rolls on a tray then transfer to a bag; bake straight from frozen, adding 5 extra minutes to baking time.
  • Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for extra dipping options.
