Description

A hearty and comforting Beef and Cheese Tortellini Bake combining savory ground beef, tender cheese tortellini, and rich marinara sauce, baked to perfection with melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Perfect for a family dinner that’s easy to prepare and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat

  • 1 pound ground beef

Pasta

  • 1 package (20 ounces) frozen cheese tortellini

Sauce & Seasonings

  • 1 can (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Brown Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat to keep the dish from being greasy.
  3. Cook Tortellini: Prepare the cheese tortellini following the package instructions, then drain well and set aside to combine later.
  4. Mix Beef and Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef with the marinara sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, stirring until evenly mixed.
  5. Add Tortellini: Fold the cooked tortellini into the beef and sauce mixture ensuring all ingredients are well coated.
  6. Assemble in Baking Dish: Transfer the combined mixture into the prepared baking dish and evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Bake: Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until the cheese on top is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Adding fresh basil or oregano can enhance the flavor profile.
  • For extra cheesiness, consider adding ricotta cheese to the mixture before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat covered in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
