Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasonings
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Vegetables and Cheese
- 1/2 head Leaf Lettuce (chopped)
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (grated)
- 1 Tomato (diced)
- 1/2 cup Red Onion (sliced)
- 2 Dill Pickles (sliced into thin rounds)
Additional Ingredients
- 4 slices Bacon
- 4 tbsp Mayonnaise (homemade or store bought)
- 2 tbsp Ketchup (sugar free, if Keto)
- 2 tbsp Mustard
- 1 tbsp Pickle Juice
- 1 tsp Sriracha
Instructions
- Mix the Spices: Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to a bowl and stir to combine thoroughly.
- Prepare the Beef: Place the ground beef in a large bowl, then add the mixed spices.
- Combine Meat and Spices: Use your hands to gently incorporate the spices into the beef evenly, taking care not to overwork the meat, which can cause toughness.
- Form Patties: Shape the meat into 2 or 4 even-sized patties according to your preference. Press a small dimple into the center of each patty with your thumb to ensure even cooking without puffing up.
- Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices to your preferred crispness. Remove bacon and reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease in the skillet.
- Cook the Patties: Add the burger patties to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side until thoroughly cooked, monitoring carefully to prevent burning.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, sriracha, and pickle juice, then stir well until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Burger Bowls: Divide the chopped lettuce evenly between four bowls. Arrange sliced pickles, diced tomatoes, red onion slices, grated cheddar cheese, and bacon slices in separate sections on top of the lettuce. Place one cooked beef patty on each bowl.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle your desired amount of the homemade creamy burger sauce over the assembled bowls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- You can choose to form 2 large patties or 4 smaller patties based on your preference.
- Pressing a dimple into the center of each patty helps prevent the burgers from puffing up during cooking for even patties.
- Using bacon grease to cook the patties adds extra flavor and fat, enhancing juiciness.
- The homemade burger sauce can be adjusted in spiciness by varying the amount of sriracha.
- For a lower carb version, use sugar-free ketchup as suggested.
