Scale
Slider Ingredients
- 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken breast
- 6 slices deli ham, halved
- 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved
Mayonnaise Mixture
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Butter Glaze
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Assemble the bottom layers: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls and place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish, forming a base layer.
- Spread mayonnaise mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over the bottom layer of slider rolls to add flavor and moisture.
- Add fillings: Evenly distribute the shredded chicken breast over the mayo spread, then layer the halved ham slices followed by the halved Swiss cheese slices on top to create the classic cordon bleu flavors.
- Top with slider buns: Place the top half of the slider rolls over the layered filling, keeping the slider rolls connected.
- Make the butter glaze: In another small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and dried parsley until well combined.
- Brush the tops: Generously brush the butter glaze evenly over the tops of the slider buns to prepare them for baking and to develop a golden crust.
- Bake covered: Cover the baking dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes to warm the filling and meld the flavors together.
- Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the Swiss cheese is melted and the slider tops are golden brown and crisp.
- Cool and serve: Allow the sliders to cool slightly before slicing between the rolls and serving warm.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works well for convenience and adds great flavor.
- For extra crispness, bake the sliders uncovered for the final few minutes.
- Sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake, making them ideal for parties.
