Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Sauce
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Pasta
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts in the crock pot as the base layer.
- Add Flavorings: Top the chicken with the unsalted butter, cream cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour Dairy: Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top and sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top of everything.
- Cook Slowly: Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Shred Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken from the crock pot and shred it using two forks, then return the shredded chicken back into the crock pot mixing it into the sauce.
- Cook Pasta: While the chicken finishes cooking, boil salted water in a large pot and cook the fettuccine according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Drain the cooked pasta thoroughly and add it to the crock pot with the chicken Alfredo sauce.
- Mix Thoroughly: Stir everything well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy Alfredo sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness, then serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and smooth melting.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- Do not overcook the fettuccine to avoid mushy pasta; drain promptly once done.
- Adding parsley enhances presentation but is optional.
- Can be reheated gently on stovetop or microwave to prevent sauce separation.
