Description

A creamy and comforting Crock Pot Chicken Alfredo recipe that slowly cooks tender chicken breasts in a rich Alfredo sauce made with heavy cream, Parmesan, cream cheese, and butter. Served over perfectly cooked fettuccine, this easy slow cooker meal is perfect for busy days when you want a delicious, hands-off dinner with minimal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts in the crock pot as the base layer.
  2. Add Flavorings: Top the chicken with the unsalted butter, cream cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour Dairy: Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top and sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top of everything.
  4. Cook Slowly: Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  5. Shred Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken from the crock pot and shred it using two forks, then return the shredded chicken back into the crock pot mixing it into the sauce.
  6. Cook Pasta: While the chicken finishes cooking, boil salted water in a large pot and cook the fettuccine according to the package instructions until al dente.
  7. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Drain the cooked pasta thoroughly and add it to the crock pot with the chicken Alfredo sauce.
  8. Mix Thoroughly: Stir everything well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy Alfredo sauce.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness, then serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and smooth melting.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • Do not overcook the fettuccine to avoid mushy pasta; drain promptly once done.
  • Adding parsley enhances presentation but is optional.
  • Can be reheated gently on stovetop or microwave to prevent sauce separation.
