Description

These delicious sliders combine juicy ground beef and pork, topped with melted American cheese on soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Easy to prepare and baked to perfection with a flavorful butter and everything bagel seasoning finish, this recipe yields a crowd-pleasing appetizer or meal perfect for gatherings or casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon burger seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Cheese and Rolls

  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls

Butter and Seasoning

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Set an oven rack in the center of your oven and preheat it to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with a sheet pan rack. In a bowl, combine the ground beef and pork, then sprinkle in the diced white onion, salt, and burger seasoning. Lightly mix to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
  2. Shape and Bake Meat: Place a sheet of parchment paper on your work surface and press the meat mixture into an 8×12-inch rectangle. Transfer the parchment paper with the shaped meat onto the sheet pan rack. Cover the meat with another sheet of parchment paper and place a second sheet pan on top to press it down evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 150°F.
  3. Prepare Buns: While the meat cooks, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Brush the cut sides of the rolls with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  4. Assemble Sliders: After baking, carefully remove the top sheet pan and parchment paper from the meat. Use two large spatulas to lift the large cooked meat patty from the parchment on the rack. Place the meat patty on the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer the 6 slices of American cheese evenly over the meat. Top with the remaining halves of the rolls. Brush the tops with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning over them.
  5. Bake Again: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly for a few minutes. Slice into individual sliders and serve on a platter. Enjoy your flavorful, melty sliders!

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the meat reaches 150°F for safe consumption.
  • You can substitute the burger seasoning with your favorite blend of spices if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding pickles or ketchup when serving.
  • Use parchment paper as instructed to easily lift the large meat patty without breaking it.
  • The everything bagel seasoning adds a savory finish, but can be omitted or replaced with sesame seeds if desired.
