Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
Sweetener and Liquid
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold filtered water
Instructions
- Prepare the Berries: Rinse the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean towel. Slice any larger strawberries into quarters to ensure even distribution of flavor.
- Juice the Lemons: Squeeze fresh lemons to extract approximately one cup of lemon juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp for a smooth lemonade base.
- Dissolve Sugar: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar has fully dissolved into the juice, creating a sweet and tangy base.
- Add Berries and Water: Pour in the prepared berries and the cold filtered water to the lemon-sugar mixture. Stir gently to combine all ingredients without crushing the berries.
- Adjust Flavor: Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness to your preference by adding more sugar or lemon juice if needed. Stir again to incorporate any additions.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld and to serve it chilled. Serve over ice and optionally garnish with extra fresh berries or lemon slices for an appealing presentation.
Notes
- Adjust sugar quantity based on the sweetness of your berries and personal preference.
- Strain the lemonade before serving if you prefer a smoother drink without berry pulp.
- Use fresh, high-quality lemon juice for best flavor.
- Can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; stir before serving.
- For a sparkling version, substitute cold water with sparkling water just before serving.
